Something I have been working on off-and-on since Friday. It's been a very long time (a few years, even) since I last worked in mircon, and I have forgotten how work-intensive they are. This already has quite a few hours invested in it, despite it being a very small drawing, only 7"x8".
Unlike ballpoint which responds to pressure, sketching and improvising with mircon is incredibly difficult. It's a very unforgiving tool. There is pencil underneath the ink, but it's very light, messy, and not very useful. I only sketched out some vague placements of important or confusing elements in the image - the rest is all ink.
