That thing called practice

So I'm still trying to figure out this magical process called digital painting, and in attempts at trying to put what I've learned thus far to work I made this. I'm not too sure what to make of it. Switched tactics 3/4ths in after getting a little fed up with it. It's got a background though, aww yeah. This is the working size; trying to keep these practice pieces small so I don't get anal about details, but true to form I'm getting too invested and it hurts the quality of the image, which is too bad for Shrimp on the left there.

Sonic: Lost World looks fantastic, I'll have to save up for a Wii-U. The Deadly Six are incredibly entertaining.
